How to figure board feet and square feet.

Board Feet

Multiply length in feet by width in inches then by thickness if greater than 1 1/16", then divide by 12.  This assumes a thickness of 7/8" and over in thickness.

Formula:    length in feet X width in inches X thickness in inches to nearest 1/16"
                                                        12

Square Feet

Multiply length in feet by width in inches and divide by 12.

Formula:   length in feet X width in inches
                                    12

Square Footage of a Wall

Multiply width in feet by height in feet.  Square footage is the same as area to be covered.
